The Croft Road site sits on the edge of countryside in an area that has recently been designated a strategic development location and as such is considered a transition site between the traditional ribbon development that lines Croft Road and the larger, high density proposals of Spencers Wood.
The council initially interpreted that the nature of this transition should be one of intermediate density and that the site is ideal for a traditionally inspired modern development, which is what this page illustrates. Sadly for this attractive design, a change of approach by the planning authority
has led to the requirement for a more traditional scheme.
