The site is situated on rising ground adjacent to one of the main routes into Cirencester and the development is being designed in a traditional Cotswold style so that it makes a sensitive contribution to the landscape.

The layout responds to the local character through the creation of distinct areas.

The framework principles previously established have been developed with particular regard to the steeply sloping nature of the central part of the site. The Outline Application identifies an area at the south of the site that is to be set aside for informal open space including an informal parkland within an historic water meadow, separated from the remainder of the site by an established hedgerow field boundary.
Features such as the existing hedgerows and footpaths have been used as a basis for a proposed network of green corridors and landscape spaces throughout the site.
